二つの隔たれた点が、その間に存在するかもしれない線を夢見ている時、周囲には楕円の空間が生まれる。自分の制作において、楕円は「巡回」と「放射」が組み合わされた形。目の形とも、銀河の形とも呼べる。それは時空間の把握におけるひとつの原型である。
When the two distant dots dream of a possible line in between, an oval space occurs around them. Oval is a combination of “round space and radiant space“ (A.Leroi-Gourhan, 1964-1965), and it can be called the form of eyes and galaxy. It is a model for perception of time and space.

「まわりの世界を知覚するのは、二つの方法でなされる。一つは動的で、空間を意識しながら踏破することであり、もう一つは静的で、未知の限界まで薄れながら拡がっていく輪を、自分は動かずに、まわりに次々と描くことである。一方は、巡回する道筋にそって世界像をあたえてくれる。もう一方は、二つの対立する表面、地平線で一つになる空と地表のなかで像を統合する。」

大分市道中央通りの両端をつなぐ、全長約30mの地下道。4つの入り口から階段を降りると、全面シルバーの壁や天井に、巨大な黒の楕円が配置された、洞窟のような空間が広がります。そこには、路上の交通標識などにも用いられるリフレクター（反射板）や、シルバーのインクによって描かれた、星座のような無数の未知なる記号たちが、光を反射しています。
この作品は、地上の場所に帰属するのではなく、隔たれた地上の点と点をつなぐ地中のチューブです。この中を人々が行き来することによって、星と星が交信するように、こちら側と向こう側／闇と光／過去と未来といった対極がつながれ、時空間に新たな線が生成されます。
An subterranean passage with a length of approximately 30m that connects two sides of a municipal road. Once you enter through any of the 4 entrances and descend down the stairs, you will find a large cavern like space entirely in silver with massive black ovals along the walls and ceiling. On these ovals, you will find numerous unknown constellation like signs that reflect the light, drawn with silver ink as well as reflectors that are generally used on items such as traffic signs.
As commuters pass through this tube, they are connected by two extremes like intercommunication of two stars that indicate the here and there/darkness and light/past and present, thus generating a new line within their routinely frequented time and space.
